‘Destroying Liverpool since 2004’ – Delighted Everton fans react to club’s Twitter post

Everton fans here in the Tavern are delighted with how their team have changed their ways under new boss Sam Allardyce.

The Merseyside Derby has never been a fixture for the fainthearted, from fiery red cards, to last-gasp winners, to high-scoring encounters, this game has it all. But with the bragging rights at stake, both sides will do everything they possibly can to bring home the spoils.

One man in particular who’s always been fond of playing against Liverpool is former Manchester United attacker Wayne Rooney, a man that’s never shied away from being the bane in the Reds recent history with Manchester United, having managed to score 6 goals against them in his time at Old Trafford.

Who else but Wayne Rooney to spoil the day at Anfield once again? The England international netted a second-half penalty to force both sides into a share of the spoils, in a Derby day encounter that saw the Toffees head home the happier of the two sides.

Of course, the Everton Twitter account took to posting a GIF when Rooney netted the equalizer, much to the delight of the blue half of Merseyside.

With an equalizer in the biggest game of the Toffees campaign, here’s a look at what the Blues fans made of the club’s post.
