Everton fans in the Transfer Tavern are discussing the changes their side faces this summer and they’re faced with fresh speculation on the future of another player.
They’re worried that Romelu Lukaku and Ross Barkley will both be on their way out of Goodison Park this summer and the latest speculation states goalkeeper Joel Robles could follow them, as The IBTimes quotes the Spaniard as admitting uncertainty on his future.
Robles’ current deal is due to expire at the end of next season and it’s not yet known if he remains a part of Ronald Koeman’s plans, as the Toffees snatched the signature of Maarten Stekelenburg last summer.
Speaking to IBTimes, Robles confirmed he’s due to meet with the club this summer to discuss his future – and there’s a chance he could be off.
“It has been a complete season on a personal level. I am quite happy with my performances. I played well and I think I have fulfilled the expectations. Now in summer we will see what happens. I only have one year left in my contract and I have to sit down with the club to make a decision,”
“I think I have to make a good decision. I’ve been already here during four years fighting to be the number one and now the truth is that I am not very clear what will happen in the future. I have certain doubts. We will have to sit down with the club and see what happens.”
Our landlord believes Robles is likely to leave, as he expects Everton to sign one of Joe Hart, Jordan Pickford or Jack Butland this summer.
