Everton and Danny Welbeck would be really good for each other

Everton fans were delighted to see Cenk Tosun score his first goal since March against Fulham last week.

The Turkish striker initially made an excellent start to life with the Toffees after joining from Besiktas in January. Aimed with replacing Romelu Lukaku, Tosun hit the ground running at Goodison Park, and expectations were high heading into his first full season in England. Despite impressing fans with his work-rate and hold up play, Tosun wasn’t finding the back of the net before his goal against the Cottagers.

Everton fans will hope the floodgates will now open for their star forward otherwise Marco Silva may have to target another striker when the January transfer window reopens. Regardless of Tosun’s form, Everton should seriously consider a move for Arsenal outcast – Danny Welbeck. Valued at £13.5m by Transfermarkt, the England international is out of contract next summer, and reports suggest he will not be offered fresh terms with the Gunners.

Since joining the club from Manchester United, Welbeck has never really been given a chance to stake a claim in the starting eleven at the Emirates. Following the arrival of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette, he was pushed even further down the pecking order. Leaving in search of first-team football can help get his career back on track.

Everton could be the perfect home and Welbeck would thrive in Silva’s attacking system at Goodison Park. Welbeck is known for his excellent work rate and tireless pressing meaning he would be an instant hit with the Everton fans. Despite being restricted to substitute appearances, Welbeck has been in fine form this season which will only continue if he’s given opportunities in the starting eleven.

Called up to the England squad again, Welbeck could prove to be an absolute steal for the Toffees.
