Everton will be hopeful in thinking that they can finish in 7th place this season with the aim of getting back into Europe.
They have the squad to do so but with the team somewhat inconsistent at the best of times, Marco Silva will have to work hard to fulfil their ambitions.
The major problem that Everton have faced this season is finding a regular goalscorer, which Richarlison has done for the first half of the season but may struggle to continue for the rest of the campaign.
Eventually, not having a reliable out-and-out striker will ruin their chances of getting into Europe so they must delve into the transfer market.
Signing a player like RB Leipzig’s Jean-Kevin Augustin would be a very good idea, given how well the Frenchman has progressed during his time over in Germany.
Augustin, (who is valued at £22.5 million on Transfermarkt) joined the Bundesliga in 2017 and has been a regular fixture in Leipzig’s team.
Not only able to play as a centre-forward, Augustin has been utilised on the wing, where he can cut in and shot or even lay-off passes for team-mates.
Currently this season, he has eight goals and two assists, so he’s well on track to matching or bettering the 12 goals and six assists he managed last campaign.
For a 21-year-old, goal contribution as good as his won’t be going unnoticed and it’s now Everton’s job to secure the services of such a promising, young striker.
Clearly, Jean-Kevin Augustin would be a better option than say Cenk Tosun and Oumar Niasse, so what are the Toffees waiting for?
