According to a report from Football Insider, Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund are planning yet another swoop for Toffees teenage sensation Anthony Gordon, despite having a summer bid firmly rejected.

Dortmund, who have been poaching young English talent of late, including current star Jadon Sancho from Manchester City, seem to be on the verge of making another approach for Gordon - with his performances for Everton U23s catching the eye of top footballing scouts.

The Englishman has scored five goals and assisted two more in the Premier League 2 so far this season, prompting manager Marco Silva to reward him with a place on the bench for the senior team's win at Southampton last weekend.

Judging by the tempting lure of German top-flight football for Toffees youngsters so far, made evident by Ademola Lookman's move across the continent, Everton could have reason to be worried about the interest - especially if Gordon decides to take the matter into his own hands and request a transfer.

Despite signing a new deal at Goodison Park back in March, this has been known to happen, with a German source telling Football Insider the club are set to make a move for the 18-year-old in January regardless.

Gordon first burst onto the scene with a phenomenal 2017/2018 season with the U18s, where he spearheaded the junior side with 14 goals and four assists in just 15 games. Given the club's struggles for a striker in recent seasons, he could certainly have a future at Goodison Park in the years to come.

Indeed, despite there not being any immediate danger of the teenager leaving of his own accord, Silva's side should keep tabs on the situation.

Clearly, he's a talent in front of goal and the idea of Everton letting a youngster walk away amid problems for the first-team on that front for a considerable period would potentially be really rather gutting.
