Everton fans in the Transfer Tavern are hoping for big things next season under Ronald Koeman and they’re excitedly discussing transfer rumours that have been floating around the bar.
Ajax captain Davy Klaassen is a name that is often mentioned with a potential move to Goodison Park and The Liverpool Echo today at 08:26 cites De Telegraaf in indicating that Koeman has stated the Dutchman is an ‘interesting player’.
24-year-old Klaassen, who missed out on the Eredivisie title to Feyenoord at the weekend but is poised to tackle Manchester United for Europa League success later this month, is expected to move on from the Dutch side this summer for the next stage in his career.
Linking up with compatriot Koeman at Goodison Park could be the ideal move for all parties, with the Toffees eyeing a creative midfielder as a potential replacement for Ross Barkley – who’s future continues to be shrouded in doubt.
Our landlord believes Klaassen would be a tremendous addition for Everton next season and expects this move to be completed in the coming months, although he’s admitted he could see Klaassen stay at Ajax if they win the Europa League.
