Everton fans in the bar at the Football Transfer Tavern are enjoying a few mid-week pints of TT Ale and have just received the news form our Landlord that their new boss has declared his priority transfer target for this summer.
One of our bar staff has noticed reports from the Daily Mail claiming that Everton boss, Ronald Koeman, has marked out Newcastle’s Georginio Wijnaldum as his priority target this summer.
The Mail report that the 25-year-old was a target for the Dutch manager at Southampton last summer before the midfielder made the move to Newcastle.
The Dutch international made the switch to Tyneside before the 2015/16 for a fee of £14.5m, with the Toon Army now looking to make a significant profit on their man.
The former PSV Eindhoven man was Newcastle’s top goalscorer last season, scoring 11 goals in 38 Premier League appearances, however it was not enough to stave of relegation and it is now believed he wants to leave as opposed to playing in the Championship next season.
Toffees fans, we want to hear from you! Are you pleased with the manager’s decision to make clear his targets? What would Wijnaldum bring to your side? Let us know below…
