Everton fans in the Transfer Tavern will have been pleased that Sam Allardyce managed to do the job of keeping them in the Premier League after an abysmal start, however, some of the locals will be looking for the club to bring in someone of a higher calibre than the former England boss.
It is believed the current Toffees manager was brought into Goodison Park as a short-term measure to help them get out of the mess that Ronald Koeman had left them in, which he has done admirably, however, a number of punters became unhappy during the final stretch of the campaign with a number of poor results and performances.
According to reports in France, the club’s owners are set to look for a new man to appoint during the summer and Laurent Blanc has become a possible candidate. Le10 Sport is claiming that the former Paris Saint-Germain boss is on their radar as they look to make Everton a stronger unit and want to bring a winning mentality to the squad.
The former Manchester United defender has won the majority of the tournaments he played in, as well as coaching his teams to numerous championships, so his arrival would definitely encourage the club’s aims of Champions League football.
The locals in the Tavern would be delighted if they could get Blanc to take over the reigns at Goodison Park considering his track-record and winning mentality, however, they will reportedly need to compete with the likes of Olympique de Marseille and Chelsea, who could appear to be more attractive prospects for the Frenchman.
