The Everton fans in the Transfer Tavern are eagerly awaiting the conclusion of this season, so they can quickly forget and move on to what they hope will be a better campaign next year.
It hasn’t been pretty at Goodison Park this term considering that in the last few years, the team has been going from strength to strength and even reaching the Europa League group stages. A lot of anticipation circulated around Everton in the lead up to the 2017/18 season and with all the money they had spent, many were even predicting that Everton would challenge the top four immensely.
As many would have realised by now, that hasn’t turned out. Sam Allardyce is currently at the helm but it seems his future with the club maybe bleak following the fans disproval of results and playing style. Whoever maybe manager for Everton next year, it’s obvious that they need to be trusted with money to spend on new players.
Us punters have been evaluating many different options for the Toffee’s and we think a sneaky move for Barcelona’s Paco Alcacer, who is valued at £13.50 million on Transfermarkt, would be the type of audacious signing that gets the Everton faithful excited again. Taking in mind the disappointment of Sandro Ramirez, we don’t believe that Alcacer would be like that because he has already proven for a number of seasons at Valencia and Barcelona, that he is a man who knows where the goal is.
Playing second-string to the likes of Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi, the 24-year-old has managed 6 goals in 18 appearances so far, albeit the majority coming on from the bench. Spaniard Alcacer hasn’t played a full 90 minutes in La Liga this year and for someone who was used to playing every game and score an average of 15 goals a season, he should really look to challenge himself, with Everton posing the perfect opportunity for him to play football and do that.
