Everton could reportedly profit from club’s demise as business end draws near

Our Everton fans here in the Transfer Tavern are keen to see their side keep things up for the rest of the season as they chase a Europa League finish.

The Toffees have gone well in Ronald Koeman’s first season and could really make waves in Europe next year – providing they reach it and make some good signings.

And, whilst the former is the more immediate plan the latter requires attention, too, with Danish newspaper BT (via The Liverpool Echo) claiming such work could be given a boost in the coming months.

They claim that the Toffees could get Thomas Delaney from his current club Werder Bremen at the end of the season if the German club drop out of the Bundesliga.

Werder are currently 16th in the German division and really could go down if they do not buck their ideas up with four points separating them and the bottom two clubs below them.

And, whilst you wouldn’t wish relegation on anyone – well maybe you would – our Everton punters certainly think it could help them in their cause for a stronger squad for next season.
