Djibril Sidibe has posted an update on his Instagram ahead of the return of Premier League football.
It has been officially confirmed that England’s top flight will return to action on June 17 after more than two months on hiatus (via BBC Sport). Fans and players alike are thrilled to see football will be making its comeback, and Everton’s Sidibe is amongst those celebrating.
In his latest Instagram post, the Frenchman has written the caption ‘Very excited for the end of the season’, and many Blues fans have flocked to comment. It seems several Evertonians are sharing the same controversial opinion – going against the grain by hoping Sidibe stays at the club.
Should Everton make Djibril Sidibe's loan move permanent?
The 27-year-old joined the club on loan from Monaco last summer but no concrete talks have been held regarding making his move permanent. His parent club are reportedly willing to lower their asking price in order to shift the right-back this summer and make back some funds ahead of the transfer window (per L’Equipe via Sport Witness). Many fans aren’t in favour of him staying longer than a year though, and have slammed him for not being good enough for the team.
Those hoping Sidibe stays at the Merseyside outfit will be a refreshing change for the defender, who will return to action against Liverpool in the upcoming Merseyside derby.
