Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe admitted he is ’embarrassed’ to be linked with the Everton job, due to his own side’s horrific recent form.
Howe, who has been in charge of the Cherries since 2012, refuted the links after a poor run of results for his side has seen them win just one of their last 10 games.
They’ve lost their last four in a row, most recently to Crystal Palace who played over 70 minutes a man down, following Mamadou Sakho’s red card.
Speaking on the links to Goodison Park, Howe said (via the Independent): “I am 100 per cent committed to this club and I am a little bit embarrassed with the speculation if I am honest after our recent run of results.
“It’s come at a bad time because people will then question whether your work has been affected by what’s being said outside.
“I am invigorated and energised to get results here. There isn’t a problem with my energy levels or my enthusiasm. This is a tough league and we are in a tough run but those challenges are what inspire me.
“We all need to come together and show the unity and the fight for the challenge.”
The fixtures don’t get any easier for Bournemouth, either, with December seeing them face off against Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal.
Therefore, things may get even more embarrassing for Howe if his side’s form and the rumours regarding Everton continue over the next few weeks.
