Everton: Fans are loving Atletico supporters holding up a Toffees flag at Anfield

Liverpool were sent crashing out of the Champions League on Wednesday night and naturally, Everton fans are thrilled. But there’s something that a group of Atletico Madrid fans have done that has especially delighted the Toffees.
The reigning European champions hosted Atletico Madrid at Anfield on Wednesday and the visitors sent the Reds tumbling out of the competition in the Round of 16 in a shock turn of events.
Blues fans are loving that Liverpool have had a surprisingly poor run in the Champions League this year but they’re especially buzzing over a group of Atletico fans who were holding up an Everton flag in the stands.
Several fans are planning on returning the favour by holding up an Atletico flag during the Merseyside derby at Goodison Park next week. One supporter has said it’s ‘so damn fantastic’ while another has hailed those holding up the Everton flag as a ‘legend’.
