Everton: Fans blast Tom Davies’ display in Carabao Cup defeat vs Leicester

Lots of Everton fans have been reacting to their devastating defeat to Leicester City in the Carabao Cup quarter-final, with plenty of Toffees supporters lashing out at Tom Davies despite his goal.

There’s nothing quite like Goodison Park on a night like Wednesday’s cup clash with Leicester, as the combination of Duncan Ferguson’s mini-revival, the knockout nature of the match and the optimism around the club regarding links with Carlo Ancelotti ensured a fantastic atmosphere.

Brendan Rodgers’ side did their best to quash the buzz around the stadium though, scoring twice in quick succession in the first-half through James Maddison and Jonny Evans.

Davies got one back for the hosts with a well-taken goal before Leighton Baines’ screamer sent the match to penalties however, and even though Ferguson’s side were eventually defeated there were plenty of positives to take.

It appears Davies was not one such positive though, as fans have crucified his display on Twitter.

Per Sofascore, he lost possession 20 times in the match, only completing 73% of his passes.
