Everton are being linked with a move for Paris Saint-Germain's Thiago Silva this summer.

According to journalist Nico Schira (posted via @ToffeeTVEFC), the Blues are looking to bring the Brazilian to Goodison Park upon the expiry of his contract next month. If Silva fails to make an agreement to stay with PSG, Everton could make an offer.

Now 35-years-old, Silva is indeed a veteran of the game and has notched up a total of 505 senior domestic appearances across his career, including 88 caps for his national team. He has spent the most time in France with PSG, appearing 310 times for the Ligue 1 giants and even contributing to 22 goals in that time from defence (via Transfermarkt).

Everton fans seem to be convinced over whether bringing the centre-back to Merseyside would be beneficial or not. Plenty are in agreement that signing Silva for free would be a great move. One Blue has tweeted 'could you imagine Holgate's development' whilst another one thinks it would be a 'massive coup' to bring the Brazilian to Goodison.

They certainly have a point, bringing in such an experienced and high profile defender would be huge for the club and he could surely help young Mason Holgate develop his game by playing alongside him for a period. Indeed, he has done a similar thing for compatriot Marquinhos at PSG.
