Everton: Fans buzz over throwback Duncan Ferguson goal
The Premier League official Twitter account has posted a 1996 Duncan Ferguson strike as part of their Goal of the Day segment.
Big Dunc’s goal was one to please the fans and punters on https://www.betting.co.uk/, netting against Wimbledon on the half-volley to help the Toffees to a New Year’s Day victory. Despite having his back to the goal, the Scot hooked it nicely into the back of the net as he turned, and Everton went on to win 3-2.
Ferguson enjoyed two spells at the club, devoting a total of ten years to the Merseyside outfit where he now stands at the hilt alongside Carlo Ancelotti. The 48-year-old made 253 appearances in blue and netted 65 goals along the way (via Transfermarkt).
Everton fans are loving seeing the former striker is his element, with several remembering watching the match as it unfolded. One supporter has hailed Dunc’s ‘unreal finish’ whilst another has said he was a ‘criminally underrated technician’.
The footage was relayed by @ToffeeTVEFC, who described his finish in the clip “unreal.” Loads of supporters reacted to it, here is what some had to say…

Scored a couple like this, including his time at the Toon. I can remember one at OT for us and for the Mags against United. Criminally underrated technician. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

To be honest everyone associates Dunc with his aerial ability but he wasn’t bad with his feet either
