Everton: Fans convinced that Rafael Santos Borre won’t play for the club if signed

Everton fans have been reacting to links to the possible signing of River Plate striker Rafael Santos Borre, but are convinced that he would not play under manager Marco Silva.

The Colombia international, who scored in the Argentinian side’s 2-1 defeat to Flamengo during the Copa Libertadores final, previously played his football at Spanish side Villareal during the 2016/17 campaign and did not exactly light the world on fire. He only scored four goals in 30 appearances for El Submarino Amarillo.

As a result, he was shipped off to Argentina and to River Plate, where he has become a fan favourite. He has scored 27 goals in 83 outings for the club.

According to Antena2, the striker has a release clause of £25.6m that River are sticking to and that the player is currently enjoying his time in South America.

Supporters were not impressed with the latest transfer rumours and made their feelings clear on social media.
