Everton: Fans fume at Fabian Delph after red card in dramatic win at Watford - Everton

Everton came from two goals down to record a dramatic last-gasp victory this afternoon, although that didn’t stop plenty of Toffees fans from venting their fury at one man in Carlo Ancelotti’s line-up.

Shortly before Theo Walcott scored a 90th-minute winner against Watford, Fabian Delph was sent off after collecting his second booking of the game (as per @Everton on Twitter) for bringing down Roberto Pereyra in the 70th minute.

The 30-year-old Toffees midfielder clashed with some of the club’s fans on Instagram last month after Everton’s FA Cup exit at the hands of Liverpool (as per Daily Star) and he didn’t help his cause in the first half at Vicarage Road when his sloppy pass was intercepted by Troy Deeney to set up Pereyra to put the Hornets 2-0 up shortly before the interval (as per Sky Sports).

Matt O’Connor-Simpson of 90min.com was critical of the Everton man in his post-match analysis, writing: “Delph is supposed to be an experienced leader within the Toffees squad and he should know better than to leave his teammates in the lurch in an important game…not that it seemed to affect them all that much.”

These Toffees fans on Twitter did not hold back in their criticism of Delph after his red card today, with one labelling him a “fraud“:

Do you think Delph was one of Everton’s worst players on the pitch today? Have you been disappointed with his form this season? Give us your views in the comments section below!
