Everton fans have further slammed midfielder Fabian Delph after the club opened an internal investigation about his recent online interactions with supporters (as per the Liverpool Echo).

The Toffees have decided to deal with the issue internally to gain a full understanding as to why the 30-year-old decided to have exchanges on the social media platform Instagram with fans.

This came after his side’s 1-0 defeat against hated neighbours Liverpool in the Merseyside derby, where manager Jurgen Klopp opted to field a youthful side and the Blues failed to have a shot on target in the second half.

Following this incident, a small group of angry fans descended onto the club’s Finch Farm training ground to voice their displeasure about the performance, which led to director of football Marcel Brands holding discussions to calm tensions.
