Everton: Fans issue response to emerging reports linking Brazilian defender - Everton

Plenty of Everton fans have reacted to emerging transfer reports of a summer move to Lille defender Gabriel Magalhaes.

The summer transfer window is fast approaching, despite football’s current postponement due to the pandemic, and that has prompted a number of transfer reports in recent weeks.

With Carlo Ancelotti set to embark on his first summer window as boss of Everton, a number of players are linked and it is Gabriel who has largely been mentioned on social media and in media outlets of late.

The Brazilian defender currently plays for Ligue 1 side Lille and he has been impressing for the French side, helping keep 12 clean sheets in 24 matches (Transfermarkt), prompting reported interest from Ancelotti.

Whilst Everton are keen on bringing the defender in to improve their defensive area, French giants Paris Saint Germain have also been linked. However, although the Parisian side are said to be keen, Le10Sport report that Everton are leading the race for the youngster’s signature this summer.

Sitting 12th in the Premier League as things stand, Ancelotti will undoubtedly be fully focused on improving his side’s league standing before committing to any transfers this summer.
