Many Everton supporters have been sharing their assessments of Moise Kean’s efforts in the Toffees’ Premier League victory at home to Wolverhampton Wanderers, after Marco Silva awarded the Italian his first start in the English top-flight.
Everton signed Kean from Juventus in the summer for a potential £27.5million (BBC), but Silva had only looked to introduce the 19-year-old into the action as a late substitute in each of the Goodison Park natives opening league games (TransferMarkt).
A promising display against League One side Lincoln City in the Carabao Cup where he offered glimpses of his potential left an impression on the Portuguese head coach, though, who opted to start him alongside Fabian Delph and Alex Iwobi against Wolves.
The Liverpool Echo rated Kean’s maiden Premier League start seven out of ten as his movement offered a constant threat to Nuno Espirito Santo’s side on Sunday, while his efforts suggested he could fill Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s role perfectly in terms of his work rate.
But Kean failed to notch his first Toffees goal as the Merseyside outfit recorded a 3-2 win – thanks to a brace by Richarlison and Iwobi’s first Premier League strike in Royal Blue – as the Italian struggled to carve out a clear chance for himself, and ended the game with WhoScored etching two shots to his name, neither of which were on target.
The Vercelli-born youngster also won one of his two aerial duels, completed one of two attempted dribbles and was dispossessed three times, but completed each of his six attempted passes.
Some of the Everton fans to have shared their assessments of Kean’s display have suggested he still needs time to adapt to the Premier League before he will thrive, but once he does so, will offer a frightening option for Silva.
Here’s a selection of the messages shared…
Kean just needs to keep it simple. Find your feet, then the tricks come later #efc

Big win that. Kean/Iwobi should have started against Villa then we’d be right up there.

Still looks raw but safe to say we’re a better team with Moise Kean in the side. Frightening potential. #EFC

Dcl does everything except score or assist. Everything about him is perfect except he can’t finish to save his life. Kean makes things out of nothing, not his best game today but he can frightens defenders dcl can’t
