The latest transfer talk to circulate the Everton camp is whispers that John Stones is linked to a move back to Merseyside after departing in 2016 for Manchester City.
Blues fans however, couldn’t be less interested in the idea of the centre-back returning to Goodison Park. Everton are reportedly just one of the sides interested in acquiring Stones’ services, with the others being Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur according to TEAMtalk (via @TheGwladysSt).
Manchester City are looking to offload Stones in the summer for around £60million, but which club will bid first is the million dollar question.
Stones signed for Everton in 2013 after moving from Barnsley for a reported £3million and made a total of 95 appearances for the club (via Transfermarkt). His departure didn’t sit well with most Blues fans and many haven’t changed their tune on him either.
Plenty of fans haven’t even given the transfer rumour a sniff, with one fan branding him ‘Jack Rodwell v2.0’. Others are simply calling the report ‘ridiculous’.

He's Jack Rodwell v2.0
£10m tops and give him the aging Philip Lahm role, see how he does..

Ridiculous story. A lot of “media” need to be ignored and their made up stories not shared.

We were entertaining the idea when we were desperate last summer, but no chance would we pay that sort of dough on him.

No thanks. He’s as bad a defender as Keane.
