Everton: Fans look back at Romelu Lukaku’s goal vs Southampton in 2015

Everton fans have been reminiscing about former Toffees striker Romelu Lukaku after his opener during their 3-0 win against Southampton in 2015.

The Inter Milan forward scored a brace at St Mary’s and a goal from Ross Barkley secured the three points for Ronald Koeman’s side and their first win on the south coast in over a decade.

His first two shots on target resulted in two goals and the Blues counter-attacked to a devastating effect.

Lukaku left Goodison Park to join Manchester United in 2017 for £75m and scored 87 goals in 166 appearances for the Toffees before his departure to Old Trafford.

His best season at the club was during his final one where he went on to score 25 Premier League goals in 37 games, with the Belgium international only missing one game during the 2016/17 campaign.

Supporters came over all nostalgic as they watched Lukaku’s opener back and made their feelings clear on social media.
