While the Everton fans in the Transfer Tavern are complaining about the state of their new kit, they’ve been met with some rather big news.
According to the Daily Mail, the Toffees will look to command a fee of around £50m for Ross Barkley should he leave the club this summer. The England international has reportedly been set a deadline over signing a new deal at Goodison Park, with his current contract up in little over 12 months.
Though talks between the two parties are thought to have taken place over the course of the season, no resolution has yet been found and both Arsenal and Tottenham are believed to be casting keen eyes over his situation.
As important as Barkley is to the cause at Goodison Park, the notion of receiving such a big fee for a player blighted by inconsistency is a very tempting one indeed.
