Everton: Fans look back at Tim Howard’s final game in blue

This time four years ago, Tim Howard played his final match for Everton after devoting 10 years to the club.
Many Toffees fans were remembering the American’s tenure at Goodison Park as fan accounts reflected on the day that he called time on his blue era.
Is Tim Howard an Everton legend?
Definitely

No way

The 41-year-old, who now plays for Memphis 901 following a career break, made 413 appearances for Everton during the decade he spent on Merseyside (via Transfermarkt). Howard joined the Toffees from Manchester United for a fee of £3.7m and left Goodison in the summer of 2016 upon the expiry of his contract to join MLS side Colorado Rapids.
Many Evertonians sent messages of appreciation to the USA goalkeeper and reminisced on all the years he spent grafting for the club. One fan has branded Howard a ‘great servant’ to the club whilst another thinks he was ‘massively underrated’ as a Blue.

Loved Tim between the sticks for us. Probably the most solid defensive unit I have ever seen at Everton (was born in 84′) with Tim behind Jags, Distin, Seamus and Bainesy

Top player. Massively underrated. Recently re-read his book The Keeper – it’s very clear how much he loved Everton 👍👏
