Everton: Fans react bewilderingly to Tony Bellew’s Liverpool praise

WBC Cruiserweight champion of the world Tony Bellew had great admiration for Everton’s cross-city neighbours after their 3-1 home win over domestic treble-winners Man City, with some supporters reacting surprisingly to his comments.
Taking to Twitter, the retired boxer didn’t hold back in his praise for Liverpool, after goals from Fabinho, Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane gifted the Reds a crucial victory in their search for a Premier League title.
Bellew, who is a lifelong Evertonian, stated: “Some game that! You can’t hate, you just have to say well done la! Proper panel that today also.. Legends all of them.”
While most football fans would take that as being graceful and in awe of the Anfield side’s wonderful attacking football, some Everton supporters wonder why the 36-year-old would publicly praise their bitter rivals.
In response, Toffees supporters made their opinions well known, responding with some hilarious criticism after the result.
