Everton fans react to James McCarthy’s recent injury boost

Everton fans have been somewhat quieter in the Transfer Tavern in recent times after seeing their side drop points at Goodison Park in the Premier League on Saturday.

Marco Silva’s men went into their clash with Huddersfield Town off the back of a win and two draws from their opening three matches, beating Southampton at home alongside drawing away at Bournemouth and Wolves. And they weren’t quite able to record a second Premier League victory of the campaign at the weekend either in drawing 1-1 with David Wagner’s Terriers, who had taken the lead through Phillip Billing before Dominic Calvert-Lewin equalised to earn the Toffees a share of the spoils.

Thus, there have been some frustrated Evertonians up and down the country in recent times, although they are likely to be intrigued by recent news that midfielder James McCarthy is nearing a return to first team action after injury.

The Republic of Ireland international hasn’t featured for the Merseysiders since suffering a horrific leg break in a Premier League clash against West Brom back in January, which happened just a matter of weeks after he returned to action following a hamstring problem.

Yet reports suggest that the 27-year-old is closing in on a return to first team action, in news which has stimulated a positive reaction from plenty of Everton fans on Twitter…

Everton fans… what do you think? Let us know!
