Everton: Fans reflect on Jose Mourinho head coach link - Everton

Everton fans are reflecting on their pre-Ancelotti era, when Jose Mourinho was linked to the head coach role at the club. Supporters are wiping their brows as they thank their lucky stars that ‘The Special One’ didn’t come into power at Goodison Park.

Before Marco Silva was sacked from his role as manager, Mourinho, along with Mikel Arteta and David Moyes, what thought to be in the running for the position (via Football Insider). Leading up to Silva’s demise, it looked likely that Moyes would step back in at the hilt for the second time in his career until the surprise announcement of Carlo Ancelotti in December.

An Everton Football Club with Mourinho at the helm would definitely have been an interesting combination. However, it seems that many Blues fans are relieved it never became a reality, with one fan predicting he would have destroyed the club whilst another supporter said the Toffees ‘dodged a massive bullet‘ by not signing the 57-year-old.

Their views are perhaps influenced by the fact that the Portuguese gaffer is currently enduring a difficult spell in charge of Tottenham Hotspur, where he has failed to win any of his last six matches in all competitions (Transfermarkt).

Here is what some had to say…
