Plenty of Everton fans have been reflecting on Kevin Mirallas’ time at the club after their official Twitter page posted a throwback goal of his at White Hart Lane back in 2013.
The footage shows the Belgian international dancing his way in and out of Spurs defenders before calmly slotting home a neat finish into the opposite corner.
Mirallas scored 38 goals in total during his spell with the Toffees, whilst also providing 34 assists in 186 appearances in all competitions, according to Transfermarkt. He has also gone on to represent Belgium in the senior international team 60 times, scoring 10 goals in the process.
One supporter said that the 32-year old drove him mad, as he claimed that he was like Luis Suarez one minute and Igor Biscan the next. Indeed, both players represented the enemy Liverpool, but the comparison still stood.
Suarez was of course a striker by trade, and he notched up an impressive 82 strikes and 47 assists in 133 games in all competitions for the Reds, meaning that he provided a goal or assist in nearly every match he played in, as per Transfermarkt.
On the other hand, Biscan was a central defender, making 118 appearances for Liverpool in all competitions, scoring three goals and providing two assists, via the website. Perhaps the comparison is unfair given each player’s positions, but comparing Mirallas to Suarez and Biscan highlights the inconsistency in the Belgian’s forward play during his time at Goodison Park.
These Evertonians shared their thoughts on Twitter:
Really liked the guy, I know a lot got on his back! But that goal simply stunning, 2nd top scorer bout 3 seasons, only Rom better! Should have done more!

Mirallas was a top player- better goal scorer than someone like Bernard but didn’t have the right attitude which what let him down at times!
