According to reports, Edin Dzeko has revealed the reason why he won’t entertain Everton’s interest in him, and it’s because of the Merseyside weather.
According to ESPN FC Extra Time (via Tribal Football), Ian Darke was on duty covering a Roma match in the Champions League alongside Owen Hargreaves who spoke to Dzeko at full-time about Everton showing interest in signing him.
The Bosnian reportedly responded by saying: “What do you think I’m going to decide? I can stay in Rome or go to the pouring rain of Merseyside to play for Everton? Please don’t ask me that one again.”
Dzeko, who has bagged 15 times for the Rome-based outfit this term, has seemingly put to bed any sort of link between him and the Merseyside outfit as he isn’t a fan of the often bleak weather forecasts in the North West of England.
Will Everton win a trophy under Carlo Ancelotti?
Blues fans have responded in good spirit, with one saying they ‘love him even more if anything’. Another supporter has admitted ‘he’s got a point’.
Makes me love him even more if anything.
