Plenty of Everton fans have been shocked by a post from Jean-Philippe Gbamin on his official Instagram story which showed him and his dog enjoying the outdoors.
The Ivorian international, who changed his allegiances from France, has become something of a forgotten man at Goodison Park having only managed two appearances in the Premier League since his £25 million move from Mainz, formerly managed by Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp.
As per Transfermarkt, Gbamin has missed out on 26 potential appearances because of a hamstring injury, and in both games he did play in, the Toffees managed to keep clean sheets, with the anchor man playing in holding midfield.
The 24-year old was perhaps bought as a replacement for Idrissa Gueye, who joined Paris Saint-Germain from Merseyside for £30 million in the same transfer window.
Comparing the two men in their respective leagues last campaign, Gueye averaged more tackles, interceptions and clearances, so perhaps it was difficult to replace the 30-year old adequately.
Nevertheless, Evertonians will be hoping that Gbamin will have a similar if not bigger impact on the team than Gueye did one he gets a proper run of matches, but these Blues were shocked at seeing a post from their forgotten man as it was relayed on Twitter:
