Everton: Fans already sold on bringing Diego Godin to Goodison Park - Everton

Diego Godin is one of the latest names to be linked with a move to Goodison Park this summer.

The Uruguayan defender is reportedly on Everton’s wish list for the upcoming transfer window, according to a report by Italian outlet Calciomercato (cited by Prince Rupert’s Tower). Godin could be available for between £6m and £8m.

Twitter fan account @TheGwladysSt has relayed the information to fellow supporters and the majority of fans seem sold on bringing the 34-year-old to Merseyside.

Would Diego Godin be a good signing for Everton?

One Blue who is in favour of signing the Uruguay international has tweeted ‘Swap for Delph’. Indeed, the midfielder in question hasn’t done much to impress fans since arriving at the club. Since his move from Manchester City last summer, Delph has made 20 appearances across all competitions and has failed to contribute to any goals (via Transfermarkt).

Another Blue has responded saying that Godin is a ‘perfect leader’. The centre-back has years and years of experience at the highest level, making himself known primarily for his time with Atletico Madrid. Overall Godin has made 533 senior career appearances and has tallied 32 goals and 21 assists in that time (via Transfermarkt).
