Everton: Fans wish happy birthday to ‘legend’ Gary Stevens

Everton fans are pooling together to wish a very happy birthday to former right-back and club centurion Gary Stevens as they reflect on his career in blue.
Stevens has turned 57-years-old and Toffees are reminiscing about his time as a part of Everton’s successful team from the 1980’s.
The former England international rose through Everton’s youth system and spent six years as an integral part of the senior team before eventually moving to Rangers in 1988 for a £1.26million transfer fee (via Transfermarkt). Across his time with the Merseyside outfit, Stevens made 293 appearances and won four major honours, including two league titles (via Liverpool Echo).
A fan even petitioned for a statue to be erected in honour of the club’s right-back, to mark his decorated career as a part of Everton’s history.
Supporters having been rushing to wish Stevens a happy birthday, with many simply in awe of the Goodison legend as they coo ‘what a player’ and brand him a ‘king’.
