Everton: Fans wish John Heitinga a happy birthday and look back at 2013 Bolton goal

Everton fans have been sending their happy returns to former Toffees player John Heitinga as the Dutchman celebrates his 36th birthday.
The former centre-back retired from active participation in football in 2016 after finishing his career with homeland club Ajax. Heitinga moved to the Dutch capital from Hertha Berlin after various moves following his Goodison Park exit in January 2014.
He spent the longest stint of his career at Goodison Park and signed for David Moyes’ side for £6m in 2009.

During that time, he scored just five goals and provided five assists in 140 appearances for the Toffees. He was vastly remembered for his injury-time winner during their 2-1 win against Bolton Wanderers in the fourth round of the FA Cup in 2013.
Supporters were quick to send their messages of goodwill and reminisce about that famous occasion for the Dutchman.
