Everton handed double injury boost ahead of West Brom clash later today

Everton fans here in the Tavern are hoping that their side can improve on victory against Brighton last time out, as they face Stoke City in today’s Premier League fixture.

Sam Allardyce managed to silence his critics in the club’s last outing against Brighton and Hove Albion, as the Toffees secured all three points in a convincing display at Goodison Park. And, with relegation contenders Stoke City up next for the Blues in today’s encounter, our local Evertonians received a double injury boost prior to kick-off. Indeed, according to the Daily Mail’s pre-match team news, Theo Walcott is fit to play and Idrissa Gana Gueye returns after illness.

Theo Walcott suffered from cramp in Everton’s last Premier League encounter against Brighton, but is fit to play against the Potters later on today. Indeed, this is a huge boost for the Toffees as one of their star performers since joining the club in January, as he’ll look to build on his goal tally against one of the top-flight’s worst defensive teams.

And, Idrissa Gana Gueye is also set to return to the side after suffering from illness, as Sam Allardyce is handed another healthy boost. Of course, after seeing Gylfi Sigurdsson ruled out for several weeks with a knee injury, the Senegalese international’s return from illness will certainly offer a more positive outlook.

Landlord’s Verdict:

The Toffees will be delighted to see Walcott and Gueye cleared to play in today’s fixture against Stoke City, as two of the most influential players in the Everton ranks. Indeed, after already receiving positive news ahead of kick-off later on today, our local residents are extremely confident that their side will secure all three points.
