According to Ivorian publication SportMania, Everton and Brighton are set to battle it out for Ligue 1 midfielder Ibrahim Sangare's signature - with the latter already making a £17 million bid while Carlo Ancelotti hopes to wait until the summer.

Sangare, who has made 83 appearances while scoring two goals and assisting five others from midfield (Transfermarkt), has been a key player for the French strugglers this campaign - so much so that the Premier League duo are willing to lock horns over his signature.

The Ivorian, who has five caps for his country at just 22 years of age, has been likened to Yaya Toure by supporters and the media alike - with one fan in particular stating that is the reason why Everton should battle for his signing. During Toure's best season for Manchester City, Sangare's compatriot scored 20 goals and assisted nine others from midfield while averaging a 90% pass accuracy (WhoScored.com) - indicating that the Toffees target probably still has some way to go by comparison.

Regardless, many supporters are keen to land the 'pure quality' youngster - here's what they had to say on Twitter.
