Everton in talks with Porto over winger

After making a decent start to the campaign under Ronald Koeman, the Everton fans are finally looking upon their Transfer Tavern pint glasses as half-full.

Having finally entered the transfer market, the new Dutch coach looks to have implemented a backbone in the team, one that was almost entirely absent during Roberto Martinez’ reign.

Backed to the hilt with lavish funds, those from the blue side of Merseyside propping up the bar this evening have been handed further good news.

According to Sky Sports, the Toffees are in talks with Porto over a potential deal for Algerian forward Yacine Brahimi.

The report suggests Koeman is ‘very interested’ in the 26-year-old, with talks said to be progressing well.

Taking a deeper look, thanks to WhoScored, the midfielder would provide a natural winger threat.

Excelling in dribbling, the Porto man could link up well with the likes of Yannick Bolasie and Ross Barkley, behind bulking frontman Romelu Lukaku.

With the side also boasting tricky Spanish wide man Gerard Deulofeu, the Goodison Park outfit could potentially field a thoroughly varied attack.

Some of the punters in this evening view his potential arrival as a very good thing, with his fluid movement and close control likely to open up space for the masterful technician that is the aforementioned Barkley.

With the club proving so easy to beat last term, the landlord strolling through the bar has talked up their chances.

Still, one complication is believed to have arisen, with the player himself reportedly favouring a move to one of England’s Champions League sides.

Overall, it has been a big summer for Everton, who have also welcomed the likes of Ashley Williams, Idrissa Gueye and Maarten Stekelenburg.
