Everton fans in the Transfer Tavern are pleased with the progress their side has made under the guidance of Ronald Koeman this season, although they expect major changes this summer.
The most testing scenario for the Toffees could see the Merseyside outfit forced to find a replacement for Romelu Lukaku, as the Belgian striker continues to attract vast interest from across the Premier League and Europe.
A number of names have been thrown around the bar in recent weeks but a new target is being discussed today, as reports from Spanish outlet Estadio Deportivo state Everton are eyeing a swoop for Palermo striker Ilija Nestorovski.
The Macedonian striker has attracted a wealth of interest this season, having netted ten goals in his debut season with Palermo, and the likes of Sevilla, Atletico Madrid and Fiorentina are keen on his services.
Costing just €500k last summer, Palermo could earn a major profit on the fee they paid Sampdoria for the striker’s services a year ago and Everton have cash in-hand to spend this summer, with their budget set to go through the roof if Lukaku is offloaded.
Our landlord believes there are better options out there for Everton though, namely Real Sociedad’s Willian Jose, but he expects a wealth of names to be thrown up in the coming months.
