Everton keen on Champions League midfielder ahead of January sales

It seems oh so long ago now that the Everton fans in the Transfer Tavern were enjoying life under new boss Ronald Koeman, considering the nature of their last few results.

While the new era at Goodison Park started with so much optimism, the Toffees have soured of late and the Dutchman is struggling to wholly convince our Merseyside locals.

So, the fans parked up at the bar have been happy to read reports from the Daily Mail to take their minds off things.

They claim the club are discussing a move for CSKA Moscow playmaker Alan Dzagoev as they look to help Ross Barkley out.

The latter is struggling for form and the punters in the Tavern are happy about the notion of having another classy No.10 to take the pressure off of him.

It’s thought director of football Steve Walsh cast keen eyes over the 26-year-old Russia in Champions League action against Tottenham Hotspur during midweek as they weigh up a move.

The Russian is understood to be keen on the idea of playing in the Premier League while he’s in his peak years as our Everton supporting locals dream of welcoming the 26-year-old to their beloved club.

How far are Everton off the top 6? Let us know below…
