Most of the reports to have filtered into the Transfer Tavern this week regarding Everton have made Toffees fans more and more miserable, but this from the Daily Mail might just lighten the mood, with Fraser Forster, Jordan Pickford and Kasper Schmeichel all supposedly targets for the club this summer.
While the futures of Ross Barkley and Romelu Lukaku continue to be debated, it seems the Merseysiders are planning to address one area of concern in Ronald Koeman’s XI early, with Maarten Stekelenburg and Joel Robles having failed to convince between the sticks across the season.
The Dutchman started the campaign in goal and, despite a few good showings, made some notable gaffes, while the current No.1 has been solid, if not spectacular.
And the Daily Mail suggest that the problem is one that the club want to address with either Forster, Pickford or Schmeichel.
Koeman coached Forster during his time at Southampton, making a move for the England international somewhat logical, while Pickford has impressed for Sunderland, despite their bottom-of-the-Premier-League status.
Schmeichel is also wanted, with the Dane excellent as Leicester won the title last season.
Everton will finish in the top six next season – agree?
