Everton lining up another potentially superb move before window shuts

Our Everton fans here in the Transfer Tavern were certainly pleased to see their side perform well on the opening weekend with them beating Stoke at Goodison Park.

Indeed, for many it was the first time to really see how the new side has come along since the amount of signings Ronald Koeman has made arrived and things looked promising.

Certainly, seeing Wayne Rooney score put a smile on plenty of the local Blues’ faces here by the bar and now it remains to be seen just how far the club can go this season.

According to TMW, though, they are still eyeing up another impressive move before the end of the window with Arsenal forward Danny Welbeck apparently on the shopping list of Ronald Koeman.

That, then, would certainly represent some move with the striker having played for Arsenal against Leicester on Friday and if the Toffees can pull it off, the league will really sit up and take note.

Landlord’s Verdict

If Everton sign Welbeck you can really count them as serious top four challengers.

The Toffees have signed a decent amount of good players but Welbeck would arguably be that next cut above. He can score at the top level and would bring that experience and ability to a rapidly improving Blues team.
