It’s been an absolutely dreadful start to the season for the Everton fans in the Transfer Tavern, despite huge amounts of money being spent over the course of the summer.
Indeed, the Toffees in the Tavern have hated seeing Ronald Koeman’s side struggle towards the bottom of the table and are desperate to see an improvement against Brighton on Sunday.
With that in mind, some early potential team news emanating out of the Daily Mail has proven rather interesting. They claim club captain Phil Jagielka is pushing for a recall for the trip to the South Coast following comments made by the 35-year-old to Everton’s official website.
It appears as if the former England international has overcome a hamstring injury that has seen him miss the last four games, though could battle the out of form Ashley Williams for a central defensive berth as Koeman looks to keep it tight at the back.
Jagielka’s experience could be huge for the Toffees, despite the fact that calling in a 35-year-old to help change things isn’t the most exciting idea.
Ashley Williams does need to sort himself out, so perhaps Jagielka could provide a helping hand.
