The January transfer window isn’t far away now and our local Everton fans here in the Transfer Tavern are expecting Ronald Koeman to spend some serious money to help them compete for Europe.
The former Manchester United midfielder has seen playing time limited under Ronald Koeman this season thanks to the evergreen Gareth Barry and new signing Idrissa Gueye forming a decent partnership in the centre of the park.
And because of that it now looks as though the Dutch manager has seen enough to make him feel that the player will not be able to force himself into his plans in the foreseeable future.
The club are apparently willing to listen to offers in January despite the midfielder playing regularly last season in what’s been a sharp turn in fortunes for him personally at the club.
He’s made nine appearances this season for the Blues but most of them have been from the bench and our landlord reckons it’s best for him to go for the sake of his career.
