While qualification for Europe appears to be just out of reach for the Everton fans propping up the bar in the Transfer Tavern are largely happy about their campaign in recent months, despite a mixed time of things under Ronald Koeman.
The Toffees have had some crazily high spells under the Dutchman, as well as some very low ones, so Goodison Park has pretty much seen it all. For the boys in the bar, many of them see this season as the beginning of something special, with the former Southampton chief backed by big investment.
There’s likely to be a huge amount of coming and goings this summer and one of those who could bid farewell to the blue half of Merseyside is Aiden McGeady. Currently on loan at Preston North End in the Championship, the 30-year-old has been talking candidly to the Lancashire Evening Post about his future on Merseyside.
Despite boasting a ridiculous amount of talent, the former Celtic ace has struggled since moving to the club and the emergence of more dynamic options have seen his position become dispensable.
“It’s at the back of my mind,” said McGeady when asked about his future. “I’ve still got another year at Everton but I think it is quite clear that I’m not part of the manager’s plans there. ”
Where should McGeady go? Let us know below…
