Everton: Marco Silva has called for his side to start winning away

Marco Silva has called for Everton to start improving their results away from home, as reported by the club’s official channels.

We are in a good moment at home and now is the moment to get good results away,” said Silva.

“Against Bournemouth, that is what we want to achieve.

“Our philosophy and approach to win when we are playing away is more or less the same [as at home].

“We may change some things in our strategy but our approach is to go there and win the match.

The Toffees manager was speaking ahead of the away match against AFC Bournemouth on Sunday, an encounter he is hoping to take three points from.

Meetings between the two clubs have often led to goals, with eight Premier League bouts giving 31 goals, as per 11v11, but Silva has insisted the defensive side of Everton’s game could be what wins them this one.

Everton’s only away win of the season so far has come in the Carabao Cup, when they beat League One side Lincoln City 4-2.

Looking at their Premier League form away from Goodison Park, Everton have lost once and drawn once, without scoring a goal, as per Transfermarkt.

This is a complete contrast to the club’s home form, with Silva’s side winning both of their matches at Goodison Park this campaign.

There was also a disparity in their home and away results last campaign, as they got 0.74 fewer points per game on the road.

If Everton want to push up the table and battle to reach the league’s highest echelons, then they simply must improve their away form, as winning games at home can only get you so far.

Bournemouth haven’t won at home yet this season, so the Vitality Stadium could be the perfect place for this change to start.
