Everton: Matias Vecino transfer links have Toffees supporters divided over swoop for Inter Milan midfielder

According to a report from La Gazzetta Dello Sport via Sport Witness, Everton could be set to complete the £16.8 million acquisition of Inter Milan midfielder Matias Vecino if the Nerazzurri manage to land Olivier Giroud from Chelsea – resulting in these Toffees supporters having split opinions over the player.
Vecino, who has completed 100% of his attempted dribbles in 10 Serie A starts for Inter this season (SofaScore), is currently linked with a move away from the San Siro with Everton now apparently in the driver’s seat for his signature.
The Uruguayan, who has compiled 88 total appearances for the club, scoring 10 goals and assisting six others from midfield (Transfermarkt), has divided Toffees fans in full debate over whether they should swoop for the 28-year-old. One supporter even compared him to current midfield man Gylfi Sigurdsson, which is understandable given the pair’s similarity when it comes to statistics.
According to WhoScored.com, Vecino averages more tackles per game (1.9) and interceptions (1) while Sigurdsson has registered a more accurate passing percentage (81.7%) and a higher amount of shots (1.5). While these two players seemingly cannot be separated due to their proficiency in different aspects, supporters are still divided over whether this potential coup could get strengthen their midfield – here’s what they had to say on Twitter.
My friend is a big inter fan. He says Vecino is not great but every once in a while has a great performance. Sounds like sigurdsson
