Everton fans in the Tavern can’t wait for the season to an end following a disastrous 2017/18 season under Sam Allardyce – whose future at the club is yet to be confirmed.
Allardyce was the subject of many fan protests during Everton’s recent victories over Newcastle and Huddersfield. Many Toffees supporters have grown disillusioned with life under the former England manager and have called for a change.
With his future unclear, no-one knows who will be in charge of the club’s summer recruitment drive. It will be a crucial window for the Blues with many big-money signings failing to hit the ground running at Goodison Park.
Regardless of who is in charge, Everton are in desperate need of some new faces. One man that should be on their shortlist is Spartak Moscow winger – Quincy Promes. The Dutch winger has previously been linked with Liverpool and Southampton.
The 26-year-old is the top scorer in the Russian Premier League, scoring 14 goals and notching seven assists which has propelled his side to second in the league. Promes also netted two goals in the Champions League which came in the 5-1 thrashing of Sevilla.
He is valued at £19.8m by Transfermarkt and could develop into a key player on Merseyside. Promes has bags of pace and the skills to cause any defender problems. The Dutchman has also been utilised as a centre-forward at times. Everton need a quality left winger who can add goals to the side but also provide service to Cenk Tosun and Promes is the ideal man to do just that.
The idea of both he and Theo Walcott flanking Tosun has seriously excited our punters, who hope to see it this summer.
Everton fans, would Quincy Promes be a success on Merseyside? Let us know!
