Everton are really starting to blossom under Marco Silva and the future looks bright for the Merseyside club.

With an abundance of talented players throughout their team, it's no surprise to see that Silva has quickly revived their early-season woes and brought them back up to a team that is feared by many, as they currently sit in 8th position.

Despite that though, there is always something a team can improve upon and for Everton it would be their strength and depth in the right-back position.

Seamus Coleman is a leader and a terrifically experienced player but one that could also sustain an injury quite easily. As good a player the 30-year-old is, some fierce competition arriving in the form of Spaniard Hugo Mallo would only be a positive January signing for Everton.

Mallo, (who is valued at £10.8 million on Transfermarkt) is Celta Vigo's captain and a vital player for the Spanish side but given the chance to move to an Everton team who are on the rise and potentially capable of challenging for a space in the top six, how could you turn that down?

Not only would an Everton switch be a great idea for 27-year-old Hugo Mallo, the Toffees would massively benefit from signing such an experienced defender.

He has made well over 300 appearances for Celta Vigo but still has loads to bring should he get such a move to Everton.

As well as being an accomplished right-back, Mallo has no fear of pushing forward and becoming a right-midfielder also, which explains his six La Liga assists last season.

Why wouldn't Everton want to strengthen their team even further in January?
