Everton must sign this 22-year-old to help them break into the top six

Our Everton fans here in the Transfer Tavern can’t wait to see who else their side signs after an exciting start to proceedings this summer.

The men from Goodison Park are easily the best placed side to get into the top six this season coming and the signings they have made so far suggests that they are ready to attempt just that.

Indeed, Jordan Pickford and Davy Klaassen are good signings and now the club must try to get in more players that reflect the club’s ambition.

Time, then, for the Blues to go after Juventus starlet Daniele Rugani.

The Italian defender has been coming through at Juventus over the last few seasons and enjoyed some good game time last season as they waltzed to another Serie A title.

He did, however, find himself firmly playing second fiddle for the big games to the likes of Giorgio Chiellini and Leonardo Bonucci, as you’d expect.

With his talent, though, he’s good enough to play week in, week out for a lot of top bracket clubs and with Everton needing an extra class centre-half, it’s a potential deal that would suit both parties.

And, with current Everton boss Ronald Koeman being a more than handy centre-half of his own in his playing days he’d surely be able to help unlock Rugani’s vast potential.

Indeed, even if the Toffees could get him on a loan they’d benefit and so now it’s time the club properly underlines their ambitions.
