Everton open to late move for 29-year-old midfielder

Our Everton fans here in the Transfer Tavern are fairly happy with their transfer window and, according to respected journalist Alan Nixon on Twitter, their business may not be done yet.

The Toffees have been one of the most active clubs this month in terms of both in-comings and outgoings.

We’ve seen the likes of Morgan Schneiderlin and Ademola Lookman come into the Merseyside club whilst Oumar Niasse, Darron Gibson and Bryan Oviedo have all moved on for varied lengths of time.

And now it looks as though Aaron Lennon could be on his way, too, with the club open to loan offers for him.

The pacy winger has not really played much for the Toffees this season with the likes of Kevin Mirallas and the injured Yannick Bolasie ahead of him in the pecking order.

He doesn’t quite look the player he once was for Spurs flying up and down the wing now, either, and so it would make sense for Everton to let him go.

Our landlord is intrigued to see where he might end up in the coming hours, then, as the deadline at 11pm approaches.
